Rideshare Bow Valley is a campaign run by a group of residents in Canmore, Alberta. Contact: hello@ridesharebowvalley.ca.

What we collect: your name, email, whether you live in the Bow Valley or are visiting, your postal code, and optionally how long you've waited for a taxi and whether you want updates.

Why: to show decision makers how many people support rideshare and where they live, and, only if you tick the box, to send you campaign updates.

Who sees it: we share names, resident category and postal area (first three characters) with the Towns of Canmore and Banff, Parks Canada, and rideshare companies as part of the petition. We never share or sell email addresses. We show only total counts publicly.

Where it's stored: on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers in Montreal, Canada. Emails are sent through Resend.

Spam protection: the form uses Google reCAPTCHA, through Firebase App Check, to block automated sign-ups. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms apply.

How long: unconfirmed signatures are deleted after 7 days. Personal information is deleted 12 months after the campaign ends; we keep anonymous totals.

Your choices: unsubscribe from updates with the link in any update email. To remove your signature or see what we hold, email hello@ridesharebowvalley.ca.

Visit statistics: we use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and links bring people to the petition. It sets cookies in your browser and tells Google which pages you view, which site sent you, your browser and device, and your rough location (to the city). Google does not store your IP address, and the data may be held outside Canada. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we never send Google your name, your email or anything you type into the form. Detailed records are deleted after 2 months; the totals in reports are kept. See how Google uses this data. Analytics does not load if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, and you can turn it off here:

The petition statement:

We, residents of and visitors to the Bow Valley, ask the Town of Canmore, the Town of Banff and Parks Canada to create a clear path for licensed rideshare services. We ask Uber, Lyft and other rideshare companies to bring their service to Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.
